About Us

Born and raised in Hanover, I started roofing in 1981. I left for Calgary and worked at Freeze Maxwell Roofing for 2 years, learning how to install flat roofs. When I returned to Ontario, my brother and I went to work shingling roofs in Toronto for a few years. In 1985 I decided to create my own roofing company along with local friends in the industry and the company began to grow. In 2002 wilken roofing and sheet metal was incorporated and continued to grow into a company of 15 plus employees.

After over 40 years in the roofing industry within Southwestern Ontario, I’ve now retired from ownership and management of Wilken Roofing and Sheet Metal. Myself and my wife now enjoy our retirement at our cottage in Sauble Beach and our winter home in Florida. I’m proud to continue watching the company succeed and am actively involved in consultation and advising.

Born and raised in this area, I started roofing with Wilken Roofing in 2001 after giving up on long haul trucking. Having been friends for years, Paul knew that I wanted a change from trucking and asked me to come and work for him.

I quickly learned all aspects of flat and shingle roofing and moved up the ladder quickly to supervisor within a few years. In 2013, I became a partner at Wilken Roofing. I continued to work side by side with the employees for another 12 years and I am proud to be a part of such a successful company. After 25 years within the commercial, residential and industrial roofing industry within Southwestern Ontario, after many years and many successful projects, I’m happy to start my retirement as of the end of December 2025 but remaining in an advisory and consulting role.

Born and raised in Hanover, just down the road from our office and shop, I watched Wilken Roofing grow within the community as well as had friends who’d worked for the company. The summer after high school I decided to give roofing a try for summer employment before considering post-secondary education. I enjoyed working with Mike, the crew and having Paul Wilken as a boss so I chose to stay on with the company for another 2 seasons. Having wanted to expand my knowledge of the commercial roofing industry I took employment in the Kitchener/Waterloo region. Working on various high volume and complicated projects all over Southwestern Ontario I progressed from roofing to supervisor and project management within 6 years.

I returned in 2018 to Hanover and Wilken Roofing to manage and supervise the commercial and industrial portion of the business alongside Paul and Mike. The following January I was made partner in the company with the interest of becoming an owner in the future.

As of January 2026, I am now majority owner, manager, and commercial roofing supervisor for the company, having completed hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial and industrial roofing over various types and varying difficulties of projects.
